Ramallah – In the village of Sinjil, north of Ramallah, the distance between homes and the settlement is shrinking, while fear for the land is growing. Residents find themselves facing daily attacks by settlers.
Here, homes are no longer safe havens; they have become prisons, with residents living behind their doors, afraid to leave and equally afraid to stay.
In a visual journalistic story titled “The Settlers’ War on Sinjil,” journalist Saja al-Alami documents this escalating reality through residents’ testimonies and scenes from the field.
The story was published on the Ultra Palestine platform on August 25, 2026, as part of the outcomes of the Independent Journalism Fellowship 2026, implemented by the Palestine Journalism Hub (PJH) with the participation of 20 journalists from various governorates across the West Bank.
The fellowship combines training, individual mentorship, and support for producing independent journalistic stories rooted in community issues and providing greater space for people’s voices and experiences.
