The investigation, prepared by journalist Moshira Tawfiq and published by Daraj, follows the story of Malak Al-Kahlout and her six children after the disappearance of her husband, Nader Al-Najjar, while attempting to obtain food aid. Through personal testimonies and expert insights, the report highlights the absence of effective national mechanisms to document and address cases of missing and forcibly disappeared persons.
The report also examines the legal and humanitarian dimensions of the issue, including the challenges faced by families seeking information about their loved ones and the gaps in both national and international responses to the growing number of missing Palestinians.
This work highlights the importance of investigative and human-centered journalism in documenting the experiences of victims and their families, amplifying their voices, and drawing attention to the long-term humanitarian consequences of war and displacement.
This investigation is part of the outputs of the Strengthening Independent Journalism and Media Networking in Palestine initiative, launched by the Palestine Journalism Hub with support from the European Endowment for Democracy (EED).
