This investigative report examines Israeli policies aimed at reshaping Jerusalem’s demographic landscape by highlighting measures targeting the Palestinian presence, including settlement expansion, home demolitions, revocation of residency rights, and geographic isolation, as well as their demographic and social consequences for Palestinian residents.

The investigation, prepared by journalist Bilal Ghaith Kiswani and published by the Palestinian News and Information Agency (WAFA), presents testimonies from residents, experts, and specialists while analyzing the policies and practices that are transforming the city’s demographic reality and affecting Palestinians’ right to housing, stability, and continued presence in Jerusalem.

The report also examines the legal and humanitarian implications of these policies and the growing challenges they impose on Palestinians across Jerusalem’s neighborhoods amid ongoing Israeli measures aimed at redrawing the city’s demographic landscape.

This work highlights the importance of investigative and in-depth journalism in documenting political and demographic transformations and exposing the impact of Israeli policies on Palestinian society, thereby contributing to greater public awareness and presenting evidence-based reporting.

This investigation is part of the outputs of the Strengthening Independent Journalism and Media Networking in Palestine initiative, launched by the Palestine Journalism Hub with support from the European Endowment for Democracy (EED). The initiative aims to empower journalists to produce high-quality professional content, strengthen cooperation with media institutions, expand publication opportunities, and reach wider audiences. It also supports co-publishing and the development of effective media networks that enhance the presence and effectiveness of independent journalism in Palestinian society.
