Journalist Rawan Tabeeb documents in her report, “A Closed Gate and Unpaved Roads: Aya’s Daily Journey to University,” Aya’s daily journey to reach her university and the difficulties she faces traveling along unpaved roads due to the closure of the gate she used to pass through.
The story is one of the outputs of the Independent Journalism Fellowship 2026, implemented by the Palestine Journalism Hub (PJH), with the participation of 20 journalists from across the West Bank.
The fellowship combines training, individual mentoring, and support for the production of independent journalistic stories that address community issues and provide greater space for people’s voices and experiences.
